Karen Huang was born and raised in New York City. She became interested in photography at the age of 11 after taking aerial shots during a helicopter tour of Waikiki, Hawaii on a family vacation.
Her photography has always been very free style, with no specific theme. She simply shoots what she likes, and presents her work in a more interesting manner through the eye of her camera lens.
Karen has had many jobs in the photo industry. She has worked in magazine production, still life production, and now works at a children’s book publishing company. Her photography has constantly progressed through her experiences in the industry, but took a turn when she began photo assisting for John Molloy, a talented still life photographer. Through working with him, she learned to shoot and retouch simple, every-day objects to make them more aesthetically pleasing.
Her main goal in life is to one day publish one of her photographic works, and she hopes to do so by continually progressing in her photography.
